Almost 30 thousand people are involved in the M-12 construction

The M-12 highway from Moscow to Kazan, bypass roads of large cities (Rostov-on-Don and Krasnodar) on the M-4 Don are being constructed on a 24-hour basis. Operation at theses facilities can be seen at the photography exhibition opened on Chistoprudny boulevard.

The Chairman of the Board of "Russian Highways" State Company Vyacheslav Petushenko, the Deputy Head of the Federal Highway Agency Oleg Stupnikov, the Head of the Representative Office of the Voronezh Region under the federal state government authorities of the Russian Federation Aleksey Aksenov, the Acting Authorized Representative of the Chuvash Republic under the President of the Russian Federation Sergey Grigoryev, the First Deputy of the Authorized Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in Moscow Ildar Mukhamedyarov participated in the event.

A large part of the exhibition is related to construction of the M-12 Moscow - Kazan federal highway. Construction works are being performed on each of 811 kilometers, in order to launch traffic on the main road by the end of 2023. In autumn of 2022, it is planned to launch traffic on first sections of the M-12 in the Moscow and Vladimir Regions.

"The Vladimir bypass road will be commissioned this year, and another objective is to open traffic along 811 kms to Kazan by the end of 2023. Then travel will take 6.5 hours without any traffic lights or one-level crossroads. Permitted traffic speed for cars will be 110 km/h in winter. In summer it will be 130 km/h, as on the M-11 Neva. Travel on the М-12 will be faster - to reach Arzamas, Diveevo, Nizhny Novgorod, and Vladimir. Then, our goal is to construct the road to Yekaterinburg", Vyacheslav Petushenko noted.
3 out-of-class bridges are being constructed on the М-12. The bridge across the Volga river - over 3 km, is being constructed in Tatarstan. The bridge across the Oka river - 1,377 m, will connect banks of the Vladimir Region and the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The bridge across the Sura river of 931 m in length will connect banks of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Chuvash Republic. In total, 300 bridges and overhead roads will be constructed on the highway. Almost 30 thousand people construct the М-12. 8,000 equipment units are involved.

In 2023, it is planned to launch traffic on the Rostov-on-Don bypass road and the Far Western bypass road of Krasnodar ahead of schedule. Now, superstructures are being launched on the bridge across the Don river (you can already walk from one bank to the other in one direction). This bridge of almost 2 km in length will be the main artificial structure of a new section of the M-4 Don in the Rostov Region (construction site address: the Aksay Bypass Road). In total, 13 bridges and overpass roads of more than 5 km in overall length will be located on 35 km of the bypass road.

Works are also under way on all 52 km of the Far Western bypass road. Asphalt has been already laid on 34 km. 16 overhead roads and four bridges are being erected. More than 800 people, 200 units of special equipment, and 300 units of vehicles are employed at the facility.

Over 4 thousand kilometers of roads (4,043 m) are under discretionary management of the State Company. This includes the М-4 Don main highway to the south, the М-11 Neva highway to Saint Petersburg, and the Central Ring Road (CRR), which became a part of the "North – West" transport route.
