Traffic on the new access to the Kudepsta sanatorium was launched on the Adler bypass

In Sochi, as part of the Road Initiatives Forum "Innovative Technologies and Intelligent Transportation Systems in Road Construction" and on the eve of the summer season, traffic was opened on the new access to the Kudepsta health resort. The facility was erected in the course of construction of the Adler bypass interchange and the federal highway A-147.
The access includes a two-lane overpass with a length of about 128 meters and a width of 12 meters. It is built using a post-tensioned reinforcement system based entirely on domestic technologies. This solution increases the load-bearing capacity of the structure and prevents cracks. The overpass is equipped with a sidewalk for pedestrians and lighting for safe movement at night. This season guests of the resort will be able to enjoy views of the sea and the Church of St. F. Ushakov.
The construction of the artificial structure started in 2024. It stands on five pillars up to 10.2 meters high. In total, more than 2 thousand square meters of asphalt concrete was laid on it, taking into account the area of approaches and sidewalks. More than 1 thousand cubic meters of high-strength concrete were needed for the construction of its span part. The Avtomobilist sanatorium also received pedestrian access to the overpass.
During the construction of the Adler bypass transport interchange and the A-147 federal highway near the overpass, a section of the Sukhumi Highway will also be reconstructed, including the construction of a retaining wall complex, a new public transport stop pavilion opposite the church, a new parking area along the St. F. Ushakov Church for parishioners, local residents, and holidaymakers, as well as the reconstruction of an underground pedestrian crossing to ensure convenient pedestrian traffic from the Sukhumi Highway under the A-147 towards the Black Sea. It is also planned to improve the adjacent territory along the Sukhumi highway. After the works are completed, a modern urban space will appear here, taking into account the interests of both motorists and pedestrians.
addition, the relocation of cultural heritage sites within the Kudepsta Sanatorium ensemble is ongoing. These works have passed the state historical and cultural expertise in accordance with the legislation. Today a part of the historical retaining wall has already been moved and reassembled on a concrete base closer to the administrative building of the health resort. Later, the restored "Pavilion at the entrance" and the arched niche with a lion mascaron will also be located there.
