Russian Highways to restore 10 road structures in the LPR in 2026

The Russian Highways is pressing ahead with large-scale efforts to restore and develop transportation infrastructure in the reunified regions of Russia. In 2026 in the Lugansk People's Republic, it is planned to rehab about ten road structures that ensure the sustainability of the transportation system and connectivity of the territories.
Since 2022, the bulk of works has been done in the Lugansk People's Republic, where 41 road structures have already been brought up to a standard. Currently, construction and rehabilitation projects are already in progress at six sites. They are more than 50% ready.
According to the Ministry of Transportation of the LPR, as a result of military operations, structural elements of 49 road structures in the region suffered various degrees of damage and destruction. Today, most of the facilities have already been restored, and the operational plan for 2026 is an extension of the systemic governmental task to comprehensively restore the region's transportation backbone. The Russian Highways are restoring both destroyed structures and strategically vital infrastructure facilities that had previously fallen into an abnormal condition due to lack of proper maintenance. The implementation of these measures is aimed at improving the robustness of the road system, ensuring seamless transportation and the formation of a modern infrastructure base for the social and economic development of the region.
The rehabilitation of road structures will significantly improve road safety, ensure stable transport connectivity between the cities of the Lugansk People's Republic, as well as strengthen logistics links with neighboring regions of the Russian Federation, most notably Rostov, Voronezh and Belgorod Oblasts. This shapes extra conditions for economic expansion, boosting the quality of life in the local communities and incorporating the region into the common transportation space of the country.
