Construction of Road Pavement Begins at the Interchange Between the Central Ring Road and Dmitrovskoye Highway
Construction of a major road interchange at the intersection of the third launch section of the Central Ring Road (CRR) and Dmitrovskoye Highway continues in the Moscow Region. Work has commenced on the installation of road pavement layers, while earthworks have reached 50% completion.
The construction project includes the erection of three civil engineering structures. As of today, the foundations and piers for all three future overpasses have been built, and installation of the superstructures has begun. Currently, crews are working on transition slabs and expansion joints.
A large volume of work still lies ahead. It will involve the installation of multiple layers of asphalt concrete pavement, drainage systems, and slope stabilization. Additionally, metal superstructures will be installed above the existing section of the CRR, where traffic flow remains intensive. The project also includes the implementation of a wide range of road safety features.
As part of this infrastructure project, four ramps will be constructed, and a 2.3-kilometer segment of the A-107 “Small Moscow Ring Road” will be reconstructed. The reconstruction will involve changes to the vertical alignment and geometric parameters of the roadway, improving its transport and operational characteristics. All culverts will be replaced to protect the roadbed from water damage, maintain natural watercourses, and prevent flooding.
The project also provides for the installation of external lighting systems to ensure driving comfort at night and in low-visibility conditions. To enhance road safety, metal barrier guardrails will be installed along the road.
The new interchange will significantly improve access to adjacent areas, redistribute traffic flows from the A-107 “MMK” to the Central Ring Road, and increase the overall capacity of both highways. Additionally, the facility will help streamline transit traffic bypassing Moscow.
Approximately 230 personnel and 85 units of road construction equipment are currently involved in the project. The interchange is scheduled to open to traffic in 2026.
